por of savannah on-terminal rail depotWhen Hurricane Florence happened, other ports closed down and forced traffic to the Port of Savannah, which means Port City Logistics is busier than ever. If the trends reported in the latest news are any indication, we’re about to get even busier!

This past August, the Port saw an increase in rail freight from Atlanta of 34% and an increase from Nashville of 72%!

These trends have been in place for quite awhile now, so the Georgia Ports Authority Board of Directors recently approved an expenditure of $92 million for the Mason Mega Rail Terminal. This will double the Port's rail capacity and put us on track to have the biggest on-terminal rail depot in North America by 2020.

This means better service to longer trains resulting in cost savings and more frequent service to America’s Heartland from Savannah all the way up the Midwest to Chicago.

Get in on our growth! If you're shipping across the Atlantic or across the U.S., Port City Logistics is ready to handle your logistics with our full service professionals.
